Solar works best when the system fits the house and the household, not the other way round. A roof that faces the wrong way, a family that's out all day, or a supply that's already close to capacity all change what makes sense — and the only way to know is to look properly before quoting.
That's why we start with a survey rather than a price. We'd rather tell you a smaller system is the right one than sell you panels that never pay their way. If you're choosing on price alone, we're probably not your installer.
What a solar and battery system actually includes
A typical home system is roof-mounted panels, an inverter (the unit that turns the panels' DC electricity into the AC your house uses), and usually a battery to store what you generate but don't use straight away.
The panels make the most power in the middle of the day. A battery holds that surplus so you can use it in the evening instead of buying it back from the grid — which is where storage earns its place for households that are out during the day.
What decides the size of your system
Roof space and orientation set the ceiling on how many panels will fit and how much they'll make. Your electricity use sets how much of that you'll actually benefit from. A battery is sized to bridge the gap between the two.
We look at all three together. Oversizing a system you can't use is as much a waste as undersizing one that could do more — the design is about matching generation, storage and use.
Installed and commissioned by our own team
We don't sub the install out. The people who designed the system are the ones on the roof, running the cable, and commissioning it at the end — so nothing gets lost between a salesperson's promise and the finished job.
You get the certificates and paperwork at handover, and you can come back to us afterwards. We also repair and service existing systems, including ones we didn't install.

We visit to look at the roof, the electrical supply and how the house uses power. This tells us what will genuinely work, so the quote is based on the property rather than a guess over the phone.
02 — Options
We put together a few designs for you to choose from and talk you through each — what it includes, what it costs and which we'd recommend and why. You pick the one that suits your needs and budget.
03 — Install
Our team fits the panels, inverter and battery, tests and commissions everything, and hands over the certificates. If you need anything afterwards, you come back to us.

Solar and battery storage questions
How much does a home solar and battery system cost?
It depends on the number of panels, whether you add battery storage, and how straightforward the roof and supply are. We give you costed design options after a survey rather than a headline figure that changes later, so the price reflects your actual property.
Do I need a battery with my solar panels?
Not always. A battery pays its way if you're out during the day and use most of your electricity in the evening, because it stores midday generation for later. If someone's home using power through the day, a smaller battery or none at all can make more sense — we'll say which applies to you.
Will solar work on my roof?
Most pitched and flat roofs can take panels, but orientation, shading and roof condition all affect how much you'll generate. A south-facing roof is ideal; east-west split roofs still work well. We check this at survey before recommending anything.
Can you install solar on a three-phase supply or across outbuildings?
Yes. Our Lapworth install put 20kW of solar and 20kW of battery storage across multiple outbuildings on a three-phase supply, with the DC cabling run in underground ducting. Larger and more complex sites are part of what we do.
Do you repair solar systems you didn't install?
Yes. Solar repair and servicing is a real part of our work — many installers won't touch a system they didn't fit. If you've inherited a system or your installer has gone quiet, we can take it on. See our solar repairs page.
