Charging infrastructure – Businesses can claim up to £500 for each parking space that the charging infrastructure will provide a charge point socket to. 

EV Charge Points – Up to £350 can be claimed towards the purchase and installation of each charge point socket. 

Each eligible SME can apply for 5 grants, as long as they are for different sites. For each grant, there is a cap of £15,000 and cannot exceed 75% of the total cost of the charge point installation and infrastructure.

An initiative from HMRC provides a tax incentive, equivalent to 24.7% off the cost of the charging infrastructure needed for businesses.

Named the Super Deduction Tax Allowance, it applies to companies who are investing in ‘plant and machinery’, which includes the installation of EV charge points.

Under the allowance, for every £1 a company invests, their tax is cut by up to 25p. The initiative is set to end in March 2023, so we recommend you take advantage as soon as possible!
